Fresh Dewy Springtime Look

Get the look here:

To cleanse the face, we chose Philosophy’s Purity Wash. Its creamy, light-weight texture leaves your skin feeling fresh and clean, and it does the work of a cleanser and toner in one, eliminating the need for an extra step.

Next, we used Decleor’s Aromessence Ylang Ylang Purifying Serum. This is a silky essential oil that rebalances skin’s sebum levels – perfect for combination or oily skin, which tends to crop up when the weather gets warmer. Massage all over the face and neck. Its natural aromatherapy will calm the senses.

To rehydrate, we applied Lancôme 'Flash Bronzer' Oil-Free Tinted Self-Tanning Face Lotion. Its transfer-resistant formula ensures an all-day bronzed glow with no mess and instant, as well as gradual, results. Vitamin E, along with caramel extract and a range of other hydrating ingredients, leave skin feeling nourished for 24 hours. Blend it all over the face and down the neck and decollete.

An important and often overlooked step is eye cream. Hate that crepey look you get from products settling into lines under eyes? To combat this, we chose La Prairie’s Skin Caviar Luxe Eye Lift Cream. This is an all-around eye treatment that fights seven different eye agers: fine lines, wrinkles, loss of firmness, loss of elasticity, puffiness, dark under-eye circles and dryness. No skin cell left behind. Apply with a tapping motion all around the eye, using your ring fingers.

To smooth pores and lines, extend the wear of your foundation, as well as providing a bright base for color, we chose Smashbox ‘Photo-Finish’ Luminizing Oil-Free Foundation Primer. One or two pumps of this is plenty – warm it up in your fingertips and massage into skin, focusing on areas of the face that tend to “eat” your makeup midday.

For a dewy glow, we chose Giorgio Armani’s Luminous Silk Foundation. This is a buildable liquid foundation that provides medium-to-full coverage, and leaves skin looking radiant all day. For best results, apply with a foundation brush.

For skin that looks luminous, without the need to touch-up or control shine midday, buff Bare Escentuals’ Illuminating Mineral Veil into skin. The light-diffusing particles will blur the appearance of pores and lines, delivering an airbrushed finish to your complexion and keeping oil at bay.

To add dimension back into the face, we chose MAC’s Mineralize Skin Finish powder in Medium Deep, for use as a bronzer. We added shadow to the temples, under the cheekbones, around the nose and on the jawbone.

The cheeks received a pop of color with Yves Saint Laurent’s Creme de Blush in Velvety Peach. Gently tap into the skin for flawless blending.

The eyes have it with Christian Dior’s newest palette, #754. We blended the soft brown shade over the lids with a tapered eyeshadow brush, accented the crease with the deepest brown of the palette using a #224 MAC shading brush, and then highlighted the browbone and the inner corner of the eye with the shimmery vanilla shade. A pop of that same vanilla color on the very center of the lid finishes off the look with a brightening effect.

For eyeliner, we chose Bobbi Brown’s Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner in Black Ink. Using a slanted eyeliner brush, we brushed from the outer corners of the top lash line, and tapered off the line as we extended it inward. It also framed the bottom lashline with a slim line on the outer third of the eye, gently smudging the very edge of it to soften the effect.

We tried the newest mascara from MAC – “Fashionflower” Studio Fix Boldblack Lash. And what a gorgeous defined look it delivered! This formula pairs the softness of springtime with a carbon-black color intensity. Load the top lashes with it for day, and finish off the bottom lashes when you’re ready to go out at night!

TOP TIP! To further intensify your look for nighttime, wet the Dior colors before applying, and glide on a thicker layer of eyeliner.

Lips received a soft shine and a dose of berry color with Trish McEvoy’s Flawless Lip in “Perfection.” For day, no lipliner or lipstick necessary! At night, touch up with a combo of lipliner and the same gloss for the perfect pout. And you’re out the door!
